Prepares students intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and practically for an extended study program in other cultures. Gives students a general background in the basic concepts of intercultural communication, including how to make cultural comparisons, how to recognize and cope with culture shock, and how to communicate with ɬÀï·¬ of another culture. Provides a brief survey of major periods in European art and architecture beginning with significant works from the Paleolithic period and progressing through the 21st century. It is specifically oriented toward students intending to travel in Europe.

Offerings
Prerequisite: EUR 3000. Offered in Europe. Provides a cultural investigation of Europe and an on-site practicum. This course examines contemporary Europe as part of the European Quarter abroad, with special attention to a Christian perspective on the historical growth of European cultures. The language skills acquired by students are demonstrated in intensive programs of living and travel. May be repeated for credit 1 time.
