The vision of the Emeriti Faculty is to work toward a world in which ɬÀï·¬ are whole, and loved and justice reigns.
The mission of Emeriti Faculty is to continue collegial fellowship among members, actively supporting the ongoing mission of the University, and continuing participation in the intellectual and spiritual life of the Christian higher education community. In doing so, recognizing that this enhances the spiritual, psychological, and physical well-being of its members.

Emeriti Faculty Benefits
Privileges for emeriti faculty are as follows:
- Use of SPU library and library privileges.
- A mail address, email account, bookstore discount, and dining privileges in Gwinn Commons at faculty rates (in order to gain the library check-out, bookstore, and dining privileges, emeriti need an ID card which can be obtained at SPU's (3220 6th Ave. W.).
- Conversion of Term Life insurance to Whole Life within 30-day period.
- Continuation of benefits as provided by COBRA.
- Listing in the .
- Entitlement to participate with the faculty in all University events (e.g., Commencement, Ivy Cutting, Baccalaureate, New Student Convocation).
Additional privileges not listed in the handbook:
- Free admission to events for you and three guests in Royal Brougham Pavilion. (*Emeriti ID card needed)
- Two free tickets to SPU’s matinee theatre performances.
- A free campus parking pass provided upon request by the President’s Office each fall. Contact rjacobsen@spu.edu to obtain a parking pass.
- Use of the Graduate/Faculty reading room in the library.
