Pre-Professional Health Sciences 

PPHS Faculty Advisors include Dr. Cindy Bishop (Pre-Veterinary Science Advisor), Dr. Wade Grabow, Dr. Ben McFarland, Dr. Charlotte Pratt, and Dr. Derek Wood.

Over the last five years, SPU premed students have achieved an average acceptance rate into medical school of 90 percent — far exceeding the 39 percent national average. The Pre-Professional Health Sciences (PPHS) program at ɬÀï·¬ offers a specialized and individualized faculty advising that prepares students for acceptance into graduate-level professional health programs in the following programs:

  • Dentistry
  • Veterinary medicine
  • Physicians assistant
  • Optometry
  • Pharmacy
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy

Your pre-professional coordinator and faculty advisors attend annual meetings of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.

They also meet with admissions counselors and deans from professional schools to ensure that you are competitive for these professional programs.
