One of Jasmine Hairston鈥檚 favorite classes at SPU
taught her about the power of God鈥檚 breath to fill
涩里番 with the Holy Spirit. Jasmine has 鈥渞espira,鈥
the Spanish verb 鈥渢o breathe,鈥 tattooed on her ribs as
a reminder, 鈥渂ecause even in our very breath is God鈥檚
spirit, and in the Holy Spirit is power, wisdom, and
sustenance.鈥 Jasmine, a senior theology major, has
traveled to Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican
Republic and hopes to return someday as a pastor. In
the meantime, she is this year鈥檚 vice president of intercultural
affairs and wants to make reconciliation
and diversity part of the breath of campus life.
