One of Jasmine Hairston鈥檚 favorite classes at SPU
taught her about the power of God鈥檚 breath to fill
涩里番 with the Holy Spirit. Jasmine has 鈥渞espira,鈥�
the Spanish verb 鈥渢o breathe,鈥� tattooed on her ribs as
a reminder, 鈥渂ecause even in our very breath is God鈥檚
spirit, and in the Holy Spirit is power, wisdom, and
sustenance.鈥� Jasmine, a senior theology major, has
traveled to Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican
Republic and hopes to return someday as a pastor. In
the meantime, she is this year鈥檚 vice president of intercultural
affairs and wants to make reconciliation
and diversity part of the breath of campus life.
