Communication and Journalism Department

Dr. Todd Rendleman Teaching a Class

Are you drawn to earning a degree in communication? Are you interested in written and verbal communication training? Would you like to increase your understanding and implementation of effective communication? By offering you training, experience, and inspiration in the art of communicating well, the Communication and Journalism Department prepares you for just about any career — from ministry to law, from media operations to news reporting.

Curriculum

Courses in the Communication and Journalism Department train you to investigate communication as a social and intellectual process. As you earn your BA in Communication, you will study communication as a shaper of history, examine speech as an art form and a tool, and study journalism as a responsible human behavior.

Your communications training will build your understanding, provide ethical frameworks, and increase your skills as a compelling communicator in both mediated and unmediated forms — whether you major in Communication or in any other field of study offered at ɬÀï·¬ Pacific.

As a Communication Studies (BA) major, your communications training will show you how communication has shaped history. You will examine speech as a tool, art form, and responsible human behavior.

We offer three minors: The Communication minor, Journalism minor, and Film Studies minor — any of which is a good addition to any major of study.
